Will I Burn Out? Nope, Thanks For Askin’

You’re going to have a radio and a TV show at the same time? Dude, will you become a zombie on the air and is burn out on the horizon? Micheal, Philly

Unlike Dick Vermeil I won’t be sleeping in my office, so I don’t think I’ll burn out anytime soon. I’ve coordinated my radio/TV schedules, and planned for several three day weekends. It’s something I’ve really thought about. The key becomes how much help you get and fortunately both my radio and TV shows have large and capable staffs. I don’t feel like either is totally on my shoulders. Especially the TV show, where I have a co-host and its only 40 minutes of actual air time.

Who’s the worst NFL coach? Dan, Brooklyn

Norv Turner is great coordinator, but look at the Chargers from two years ago. They were 14-2 with ten Pro Bowlers under Marty Schottenheimer. Now, they have struggled in both of the last two regular seasons, played better in the playoffs but ultimately lost. Ask yourself, do they feel as formidable as they did two years ago? Not to me. The Patriots, Steelers and Ravens all look better to me. Norv is in a dead heat with the Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, or as I call him, a marshmallow with a headset. He’s another top coordinator, who doesn’t look, sound or feel like a head coach. The Cowboys have eroded since he took over for Parcells.

Colin, Pro sports in Vegas: will it happen soon? Glen, Las Vegas

I really don’t think so. First, Vegas doesn’t need pro sports, Milwaukee does. Vegas has plenty of things to do at night. Secondly, over thirty percent of workers in LV work at night, the same time of NBA tip-offs and MLB first pitches. Third, only about 40 percent of people in Las Vegas, are from there. So 60 percent already have their own favorite teams. The demographics don’t lie, a pro team would bomb.

Needy chicks are a huge drag. I’m too busy to deal with ‘Betty Bi-Polar’. Have your act together, feel good about yourself without being a diva and we’ll get along. Secondly, be funny, without trying to be. Kathie Griffen doesn’t interest me. At all! Be subtly clever, smart and funny. A ‘get it’ girl, as my boys say, is always great.
