The prefect women: a 24 year old’s body, a 44 year old’s mind and a 64 year old’s patience.

reidYou don’t think Andy Reid is a great coach? Digest these numbers real quick. Reid, at 51 years of age, has 97 regular season wins and 10 playoff wins. Bill Belichick, at 51, had only 75 regular season wins and 8 playoff wins. Reid has won 10 playoff games in 10 years. Before he arrived the Eagles franchise had 9 playoff games total.. Since 2000, Reid is 58-7-1 against teams that end up finishing the season below .500. He’s also 7-0 in first round playoff games, virtually unheard of in the NFL. Eat that, Philly critic!

I called Dan Patrick the other day. Things are going well. Believe it or not, I’m rooting for him. Why would anyone in journalism or entertainment want one company to dominate everything. Then at contract time, that one company could lowball you, and you’d be stuck taking the offer. I never want Jim Rome, Dan Patrick or Fox sports radio to go away. Competition is great for everyone who is competing.

barkley5Matt Barkley, USC’s freshman QB, has one edge over other freshman QB’S. The Trojans offensive line is experienced, talented and very deep. The kid will have lots of time to throw. And his targets, as always at USC, are gifted. I expect the Men of Troy to go 11-1, but I’m not sure where the loss is (my guess is down to Ohio State or Cal). The Trojans play at Notre dame and at Oregon, but neither of those teams have formidable defensive lines, meaning USC has a huge edge in the trenches.

How can people really believe in luck? You think some force is just giving someone breaks on an hourly basis. Really? Luck is a word used by average people to rationalize their own limited skill set.
==========
If Michael Vick would have signed with the Redskins, we would have known about it, days in advance. Something would have leaked from that shaky front office. But in Philly, you don’t hear a peep. The Eagles are a first rate organization.

wtHere’s why I’ve always been against socialized medicine. Why should disciplined people pay for undisciplined people? If you can’t take care of yourself, I shouldn’t have to either. Now, I do believe any society should take care of children, seniors and diseases which are out of your control. But why should I pay for some young idiot getting shot, getting his third stab wound or trying to kick his drug addiction. From birth to 18 and 65-beyond, let the government play a major role. But for the 50 years in between, look in the mirror. Most health issues begin with the individual.

    short, sweet and brilliant view on healthcare…i’ve been trying to sum it up like that and you nailed it

    also, i never believed in luck either…until i was 2 under after 3 holes on the TPC @ snoqualamie in WA state a few years back. we weren’t playing the tips, but i’m a 18 handicap…

    Take this into account Colin next time Eagle fan pipes up about Andy Reid. Since 92-51-1 overall since 2000. That is the best in the NFC. Only three teams have a better record than the Eagles over the time span, New England at 102-42. Indianapolis at 101-43, Pittsburgh at 94-49-1. Colin Is Research!!!!!

  3. Andy Reid, a great coach…Are you kidding me!…Bill Belichek won three Superbowls playing in the much tougher AFC. During the Eagles run the NFC stunk to high heavens. The 2004 NFC championship game was basically the Eagles vs. Michael Vick. What a joke! Reid is 1-5 in NFC championship games(2 home games, favored in 4 games, 0-1 in the Superbowl). He and McNabb have not gotten done when it really mattered! The real credit for their success should go to the late Jimmy Johnson and his defense. I’m sorry. I am not buying the Andy Reid greatness story. I know he have won a lot of games during his tenure but look where they were playing, in the putrid NFC!
    Some years ago someone had the audacity to say that the Eagles was the gold standard of the NFL…yeah, more like fool’s gold.
