Florida Gators Announcer Faces Child Porn Charges

When you are a major college football program with a revolving door of talent, the early departure of freakish athletes from your team becomes a routine way of life. The Florida Gators have handled this year’s exodus of greatness with one of the best recruiting classes of all time. Not a bad way to kick off the new decade.

The one thing a program like Florida is never prepared to handle is the freakish behavior of a closet pervert who happens to be a recognizable figure inside the football program. Compared to this, Alabama’s running backs are a welcomed opponent.

Steve Babik, the former University of Florida radio coordinator, is facing federal charges of distribution and possession child pornography. This creep faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 if convicted of the charges. He was fired immediately after charges were filed.

The multiple departments investigating Babik accuse him of possession and distribution of child porn on multiple occasions from November 2nd to Novemebr 30th. Hopefully the legal system gives this guy a fair trial, takes everything into account and gives him the MAX sentence. There is no room for guys like this in the free world. Hopefully he gets a 6′6″, 325lb cellmate who has kids of his own and a short fuse for child abusers.

To make sure he gets what he deserves they should throw him in the closest prison to Tallahassee, where just being a Gator fan in could get you eaten alive.

This shouldn’t be an indictment on the University of Florida football program by any means. There are perverts in every line of work and I’m sure we’ve all had relationships with people who get in trouble for crimes that we didn’t think they were even capable of. That said, any fellow employee that had a close relationship with Babik should be subject to a complete background check and if they had any prior knowledge of this dirtbag’s dirty deeds they should get the ax too.

It is unclear if Babik will have to give up his role in the hit TV show ‘30 Rock’. None of the Baldwin Brothers could be reached for comment.
